Hey Randy,
Look for a group of girls standing at the bar. If there is no group of girls standing at the bar, go to a different bar.
Casually walk up next to the group and order a complicated drink, preferably made from liquors that are furthest from your location. A Long Island Ice Tea is a good drink for this. You're looking for the maximum amount of waiting time.
You need to say something that paints you as a busy jet-setter, while simultanneously painting the girls as ordinary. This will entice them into proving themselves to you, and you'll instantly have the upper-hand.
And the question is, "What time do the bars close in this city?" Suddenly you're a busy executive and they're here to serve you.
When they give you the answer, reply with either "That's great, closing time in [your home city] is so much earlier," or, "In [your home city] closing time is later, guess I better get my drink on." Make sure the city you use is pretty cool, if they're on the east coast - use a west coast city like Newport Beach. If you're on the West Coast, use New York City. If you're in Dallas, say Austin - women in Dallas love guys from Austin!
Next, figure out a way to let them know they are much cooler than the girls you're used to. This is really easy on the east coast, as west coast girls are know as unapproachable. So if you're in Ft Launderdale as an example, say "wow, you're so much nicer than the girls in Newport Beach".
Finally, in order to close the deal, tell them you're out interviewing for a job and you might relocate (to their city), unless of course the first thing out of their mouth was "I always wanted to visit Newport Beach" - then you have your angle.
Good luck,
Jack
